It helps to prevent ischemic heart disease by dissolving blockages and clots in the veins. During upper respiratory tract infections it can alleviate cough as well as flu symptoms. When used prophylactically, it strengthens the immune system . Garlic is a vegetable rich in vitamin C, which is responsible for the proper functioning of the immune system . Diallyl disulphide sulfoxide helps to dilate blood vessels in garlic, which helps to lower blood pressure. It helps to open the airways during colds and has a warming effect.
