Alpha lipoic acid (ALA), also known as thiooctanoic acid, is a vitamin-like substance. Its interesting feature is its solubility in water and fats, which largely determines its operation and application. It is produced in small amounts by the body and is found in some foods. It has two main functions in the body. Firstly, is a powerful antioxidant that prevents and reduces the damage caused by free radicals, and secondly, it participates in the metabolism of consumed food, helping to convert it into energy. It is believed that small amounts from food and produced by the body are sufficient for metabolic processes, however, to use its antioxidant properties, supplementation is necessary, which is also used for its other features that support the proper functioning of some processes in the human body.

Usage:
